Turnkey Website Buying Tips

Buying a Turnkey Website to either add to your online website portfolio or even begin making money online can be a great investment or a complete loss of money. Use the following turnkey website buying tips to help keep the loss at a minimum:

* When looking for a turnkey website to buy, try to find sites that offer seller feedback, like those shown on our Where to Buy Turnkey Websites - page. You will want to buy from a reputable seller.

* Read the description of the website fully. Make sure you have the capability to maintain and/or edit the website. If not, be sure the seller will give you full instructions and/or support.

* Be aware that simply buying a turnkey website will not automatically make you money. You will have to "market" the website.

Read our Turnkey Website Internet Marketing Information to get an idea of the degree of work involved in marketing online. If you feel you do not have the time to market the site(s), then wait until you do before buying.

* Be wary of extremely low cost websites. They are usually duplicate websites made within minutes and over and over again. Some duplicate websites are fine to buy, yet unfortunately, many are EXTREMELY difficult to edit the content and / or images, etc. Even very experienced web designers cannot edit these websites! If you cannot edit the websites, you cannot make them unique and will have a hard time getting them listed in search engines.

* Make sure the product or service actually has income potential. Do not trust "income stats." They can easily be created by an image software program. Instead, do a little research. Are there other websites online selling this product or type of product?

Go to Free Wordtracker Trial and enter the product name in their keyword search to find out how many times the product is searched for daily. If it is more than 100 or so, there is usually a market for it -- although it does not guarantee it sells well.

Another quick way to check if a product sells well, is to:

  • go to eBay [click here]
  • Click on "advanced search" found at the top of the page.
  • Check the box for "completed listings only"
  • Enter the topic keyword(s) of the turnkey website you are interested in buying
  • Click the search button.
  • You will be shown all the completed auctions for the keyword entered.
  • ALL of the listings showing a GREEN price Sold.
You can quickly determine whether the type of products you would like to sell or promote actually sell online.

Another way to check income potential is to enter the product name or niche keyword in Google search. If there are a lot of Google Adwords listings (found on the right of the page), that usually means the product sells online.

* If the turnkey website is costly, consider paying for it through an escrow payment. Do not release payment until the domain has been transferred to you and the FTP / Cpanel login information has been given to you.

* If you are looking for a turnkey website on eBay, always check the seller's feedback. Many people make a living by creating excellent turnkey websites and selling them on eBay. Most good sellers offer bonus' with their websites. Many will provide you with extras such as free forum memberships, search engine submissions, marketing help (or marketing ebooks or videos), technical support, one year of free hosting and more.

Buying a turnkey website can be a great way to get started in earning an income online. It can also be a timesaver if you wish to add to your online portfolio. Be extra cautious in your purchase and you could very well buy a winner!
